Project Overview:
Santos operates a fleet of approximately 20 Howden 510 screw compressors, one of which serves as a swing unit. After two years in a Brisbane-based workshop, the swing unit was relocated to Altrad’s Dalby overhaul facility for a major overhaul. This project utilised genuine OEM parts and specialised tooling to restore the compressor to optimal operating condition, ensuring its readiness for deployment.
Scope:
- Major overhaul of the Howden 510 screw compressor in compliance with OEM specifications.
- Use of genuine OEM parts and specialised tools, including the Howden 510 Rotator Table.
Outcomes:
- Completed the overhaul safely and within budget, restoring the swing unit to peak operational condition.
