Project Overview:
As part of BHP Billiton’s Rapid Growth Project – Stage 6 (RGP6), the installation of a fifth car dumper was critical to enhancing the company’s iron ore export capacity at Nelson Point, Port Hedland. The twin-cell car dumper and two positioners supplied by Metso Minerals represented key infrastructure supporting BHP Billiton’s iron ore operations, among the largest in Australia. Altrad (formerly AGC) executed the fabrication and assembly work, showcasing its capabilities in delivering precise and heavy-duty industrial solutions for the mining sector.
Scope:
Altrad’s scope of work included:
- Supply, fabrication, and assembly of a twin-cell car dumper.
- Fabrication and assembly of two positioners to support ore-handling efficiency.
