Project Overview:
The Temporary Living Quarters (TLQ) provided additional accommodation facilities for Woodside’s Pluto riser platform, which is typically unmanned. This modular solution allowed for flexible and safe deployment to support offshore personnel requirements. Altrad (formerly AGC) was contracted to fabricate, assemble, and commission the TLQ, ensuring it was fit for offshore use while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Scope:
Altrad’s scope of work included:
- Fabrication, assembly, and pre-commissioning of the TLQ, including installation aids and sea fastening grillage.
- Loadout, weighing, and sea fastening of the TLQ onto a transportation barge.
- Assistance with preparation for offshore towing and deployment.
- Integration of modular accommodation containers and utilities into a lifting frame design that allowed deconstruction into manageable sections for transport and installation.
Manning:
- Peak workforce deployment of 75 personnel
- Expertise in fabrication, assembly, and offshore installation
Outcomes:
- Successfully delivered the TLQ within the four-month contract period, adhering to Woodside’s stringent quality and safety requirements.
- Delivered a uniquely designed modular system capable of deconstruction into smaller lifts, enabling efficient offshore installation using the platform crane.
- Provided seamless support during loadout, sea fastening, and preparation for offshore tow, ensuring safe and efficient transportation.
- Reinforced Altrad’s reputation for delivering innovative and reliable offshore accommodation solutions.
